The "Kid" Museum

We visited the Kohl Children's Museum. Will says it is the "Kid" museum. Where you go to see kids. They played hard, and we left soaking wet and crying. Must have been a success!

Some People!

Del's car was broken into yesterday. Taken: credit cards, cash, and GPS. Left with: a lot of phone calls to make, a broken window, and a cold ride home.

Lesson learned.

Now I just have to hope that some ratty little high school spring breaker doesn't GPS his way to my home while Del is camping with the scouts.

Then again, I could give him a piece of my mind.

Him, and the rude accented guy who came up to Georgia in Banana Republic the other day and said "You cry too much."

Yup, kids cry, it's annoying.

It's not like I wasn't trying to get out of there. Chill people. Or, earplugs in public. Kids exist.

Oh, and when I push the handicapped automatic door opener, it isn't so you can stand behind and wait for me to do it, then bump me aside while you saunter through as if I opened it for your convenience and not that of my double stroller.

I guess an expensive, inconvenient smash and grab job puts me in a mood.

Boys Pirate Birthday Party

{The invitation, message in a bottle}

We hoisted the sails today for a pirate party at our house for Wally and Will. It was a lot of work, but a lot of fun! Thank you to all who came, I could not believe how thoughtful and generous everyone was. I found the ideas that I used on a blog of a very cute and creative girl from Provo named Britnee, here, who threw a pirate party for her son and made all her amazing ideas and scrapbook designs available! But I must say, as happy as I was about how my party turned out, my knock-offs were not as good as the original. I was just grateful for a jumping off point! So, shiver me timbers, here are some pictures.

I was busy playing host, and mom, and photographer, and I am super embarrassed to say that my shots were awful! I was just grabbing my camera and shooting to try to catch anything in the melee, and the settings were off. But oh, well, it is the memory that counts right?

{The Food Table complete with: Peg Legs (carrot sticks,) Golden Nuggets (chicken nuggets,) Pirate's Fingers (pigs in a blanket,) Red Rubies (grapes and strawberries,) and Sea Bark (chips.)}

{A couple of pirates checking out the grub}

{The pirate's "booty-full" cupcake}

{The Treasure Hunt loot, they were so excited about this!}

{I think the most fun of the day was had playing with left over dry-ice after the party.}

This Is Worth Taking A Minute...

To watch.

"The more you trust and rely upon the Spirit, the greater your capacity to create."

It makes those days when I feel inadequate because I am no good at knitting, drawing, scrapbooking, or feeling less than stellar on the piano, okay.

Is Gon Dit You!

Georgia still wakes up in the night about two to three times a week. I know that is it because I give in to what she wants when she does call for me. (A bottle. I know I am terrible. I never gave my boys bottles in the middle of the night when they were almost two. I can't help it, she makes me feel bad, and I'll admit it, I just want her to be quiet so I can go back to bed!)

But now she has taken things to a new level. She has learned how to make me completely paranoid... and sleep deprived. The other night as I changed her diaper in her dark room in the middle of the night, she looked over my shoulder at the open door behind me and said,

"Whas dat? Gasp!... "It a ghost! Is gon dit you!"

I got chills up my spine and turned around afraid of what I would find. Of course there was nothing there, and really I am too practical to be afraid of ghosts, but you never know. What if some crazy guy had snuck in and was standing there and she was pointing him out?

I told her not to say there are ghosts because it freaks mommy out. But now she has done it two more times in the middle of the night. A couple of nights ago, Del woke up to hear me telling her that scares mom and let's not say it anymore, and was laughing into his pillow.

Come to think of it, if she does it tonight, I might just make him get up and face the spooky creature in Georgia's imagination. Let's see how funny it is then!

Wally

This is the best I could get out of Wally. The little stink. He was not having it.
(I know, my exposure needs some work. I'm learning, these were practice seasons.)

Happy Birthday Wally!

Six years ago today, after a ridiculously long labor, Wally came into our lives. We love our "Wally Boy" so much and we are blessed to have him in our family. Wally and I have definitely had our adventures together in life, and I hope they never stop! We love you bud! Unfortunately, Wally and Will are both staying home from church sick today. So we opened presents before sending Georgia off with Dad. We are getting excited for the pirate birthday party next Saturday to celebrate both Wally and Will's birthdays!

But I Know All The Things!

There are a couple of things that have happened lately that I have been meaning to write down somewhere. Just some of the funny little life events that make me laugh.

Georgia has become very good at undressing herself. She is always taking her pants and diaper off. In my opinion, another sign that she needs to potty train. When I go into her room in the morning, she is sitting in her crib with no clothes. I put her at the table to eat, and when I check on her, no clothes. She can put some clothes on too, I just hope she becomes more efficient at that! I think the above look is quit stylish.

We were in the Portillo's parking lot and Will picked up a cup someone had left behind and took a nice long slurp on the straw! Disgusting! We had our backs turned for one second to get everyone in the car, and he ends up needing to be de-contaminated! I hope he didn't catch anything! I am wondering if it was anti-underwear juice! Please go on the potty Will!!!!

And then there is Wally...
My favorite is that I came home one day to find a wet card on my front porch. The scary thing was I recognized Del's name on the front of it as being written in my handwriting. Then I realized that it was a card I had given him our Anniversary! Wally, being the mail delivery guy that he loves to play, had apparently found the card in Del's office, and delivered it to a neighbors house. They kindly brought it back, I am sure after they read it, seeing as it was open. I could die thinking of one of my neighbors reading a card with lovey anniversary talk written inside from me to my husband! We have learned that mushy cards need to be kept in a top secret location, as to avoid sharing our joy with the entire neighborhood thanks to our in-house mail distributor.

Then last night Wally told me:

"Mom, you two (meaning me and Del) need to listen to ME. I don't listen to you two.

Me: " Sorry that is the way it goes. Little boys listen to their mom and dad. When you are a dad you can tell your kids what to do."

Wally: " But I know all the things now! I can tell them to the kids and the adults! Adults listen to their kids!"

Me: " No deal. Go to bed.

Wally: "Rats!"

Precocious, or just naughty?

And just because she is cute:

I put Georgia in my bed early yesterday morning. Then I fell back to sleep, but apparently she didn't. When I woke up to find her missing, I went down stairs where I found her standing on a chair smiling. She said, " Daddy bye bye. At work."
She had gotten up and searched the whole house for him thinking maybe he was down in his office. It was just cute. Oh, but what wasn't cute was that she had pulled a stick of butter off the counter, and I spent the rest of the day wiping it off of everything. Nothing like a greasy baby in the morning!
