We just enjoyed Georgia's baptism with our families! It has been so strange in a good way to have them close enough to attend these events!
I am just glad right now that I am able to update to my blog with photos. I had a hard drive crash. That was a first for me, and yes, it is as traumatic as everyone says it will be! I was mostly concerned with the pictures and video of Lydi's birth that I had stored on that hard drive. I had not shared them anywhere else, and I was afraid that those moments were lost forever! '
I got lucky because money was able to fix the problem! We had a computer specialist work it out for us and he was able to restore everything! Time to back, back, back it up!
I am relived that we have managed to get Georgia's baptism scheduled! Her birthday was three months ago. Between a move, national holidays, and a new stake, we kept having to bump it!
We ended up with a peaceful day with beautiful weather and so much family support!
The baptism was held in Midway's Swiss themed Stake center. Very cute!
We finally got some pictures of Georgia in her dress for the invites we sent out. She looks so pretty in it! We jumped in the car the night before we went out of town for a family reunion, just as the light was starting to fade. Luckily, there is a little old house used as a pre school next to the grocery store that has beautiful wild flowers we were able to use as our backdrop. They inspired me to order some wildflower seeds!
I will put some of the other photos from that evening in a separate post. They are on Del's computer thanks to my hard drive crash. I will update when I have some time to use his computer when he gets home.
We had everyone over for lunch after the baptism. It was so fun to host our families. We have not been able to do that in our own home! I was nervous about fitting them all in our current home, but it ended up working out well. Especially because the weather cooperated perfectly, and we ate outside under the tent. I am so grateful for this home we have been able to settle in Utah in. I went into the purchase of it with concerns because it was not the end goal, seeing as we have a lot and the plan was to build. We still plan to build a home, but we don't have anything drawn up yet. It has been such a relief not to feel rushed, or uncomfortable in a rental situation that is not ideal. We are so glad we can take our time, get our kids situated, and be sure the business is adjusting after the move, and get to know some great neighbors and church members while we live here.
We served chicken salad, because that is our go to baptism meal!
Georgia was so so excited that morning! She has been anticipating this for such a long time! You can see how thrilled she is in this photo!
We set up our brand new tent for the baptism. Del and I wondered if we were handy enough to do it when we saw that the instructions were not great. But we did it, and we could probably even do it again! Yay us!
My girlies.
The Midway stake has these adorable lace aprons for the girls to wear over their jump suits.
Unfortunately, Del was not looking at the camera in this photo. This is just before she went into the font. Also unfortunately, someone who was baptized before us took our towel we left in the back ready for when she got out. Okay... interesting time to take something that does not belong to you.
The dessert table was full of deliciousness!
There they are! Family!
Again, It was a wonderful day. I am so thrilled that my girl wants to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. I am so glad that she has taken the first step to lead a life of service and righteousness. I am so happy to help her on that path as her Mom. Lots of prayers for help on that journey with all of my children, as ultimately, inspired guidance and love for the children in our lives is what really matters!
