Georgia had her seasonal dance recital at the high school last week.
Because it was a very special event, and a very limited amount of time, I was allowed to put her hair up instead of letting her run around like the wild thing she usually goes as!
She just looks so cute with it up!
Pardon my make-upless eyes. They were too irritated to tolerate it that day.
The recital is put on by the community dance program, so there are no ornate costumes or props, but it is still cute, and gives Georgia a chance to overcome some of her very strong natural inhibitions about performing in public.
Grandma and Grandpa were in town for the recital, so Georgia had more of an audience there to support her! They gave her flowers, which she was very happy about. They sat in her room in vase all week.
Georgia's dance was about being a wild monster. One day, Georgia and I were in the car, and when a Katy Perry song came on that has less than desirable lyrics, I changed the station. Georgia told me that was the song they were doing their dance to at the recital.
I really doubted that, but when I told Del he wanted to call and be sure. I was relieved that was actually not the case. I do think they turned it on in class for free style dance time though. Some days the responsibility of raising a daughter to be a righteous, grounded, classy, kind, woman is overwhelming in this corrupt world! That is something to easily lose sleep over!Back to the recital! I need to see if my Dad got any good shots of Georgia on stage, because mine are all pretty terrible. I don't have great zoom.
These recitals are a lifelong lesson in patience for the brothers. There was a lot of impatient sighing coming from this end of the row. Overall, they were great.
Another activity down! With school out in a week and a half we are moving full swing into the Summer list of classes and practices! Hold your breath for me!

What a cutie! I know what you mean about raising kids-we had to return a book to school because it was less than desirable for jaren to read! Ughh!
