Fun in spit of the heat. Crazy heat. Day after day. When it gets to about 105, and then you add humidity, you just better be ready to do a lot of sweating. Especially at outdoor swimming lessons while you wait for the kids.
I told their teacher I would just start to think of it as my weekly detox. And I am not a big sweater, so that is saying something about the Midwest heat.
So on the Fourth, we went up to Wisconsin to see the tiny town our friends the Laws family moved to. And to see the Laws of course.
I have been so blessed with good friends in my life.
And since I have moved to the Chicago area, I have had a lot of really neat people come into my life.
The sad part about it, is that there is always a time limit on long they live by me. We have really good times, become really close, and then they move away and leave me.
But the good news is that I now have some really amazing friends in all corners of the country! I always think of it the way it is described in that song "For Good," from Wicked. They all leave a "handprint on my heart."
We went to Lake Mills for the day, and the kids were in heaven out in the water. We ate dinner at the Laws new home, and just had a really nice time with some good friends from our Ward, (our church family we attend meetings with every Sunday.)
And now some pictures of some really hot and tired parents and some kids with energy that won't quit!
Lind, Me, Tanja, and Jessica
Shiny, shiny, shiny! How did everyone else get off looking so good?
Craig, Dru, Rob (Bishop), and Del.
These guys war in a goofy mood.
The kids. Love that Walker took the opportunity to grab and entire bag of chips and go to town, during the chaos.
Del's sunscreen application always looks a bit like this.
Georgia in her patriotic attire. She had an interesting week. She lost her first tooth the day before, and you would have thought the world was coming to an end! And she had a fever and woke up a couple of days later with this weird rash all over her face and body. I think she had Fifths Disease, but I didn't take her in, so I am not positive.
She is always up for a party though, and while we got in the car to go home from Lake Mills, Georgia declared,
"That was SO much fun!!"
It was fun!
