Torticollis

The not so little word that took over my life for a year after Wally was born has returned to haunt me. We noticed about two weeks ago the head tilt to the right in Walker that made us both say, "Oh no!" And sure enough he got the official diagnosis, and his first session of physical therapy this week.

I feel like I should be an expert in this area. I spent the first year after we moved to Chicago navigating my way around a new city to every doctor imaginable for Wally. Torticollis was just one on a long list of big words that defined Wally's struggle for the first 18 months of his life.

And now our poor, sweet little Walker will have to get the help he needs to keep his head from tipping down to his shoulder. We are hoping because we caught it so early he won't have to wear the helmet to re-shape his head like Wally had to. Walker is such a good boy, I know that he will get better fast.

I am not going to lie, my schedule could do without one more weekly appointment. Between Wally's tutoring, my own neck issues, church callings, dental appointments, and just the everyday things that come up, it is getting interesting around here!

Now I get to add the recall on my BRAND SPANKIN' NEW vehicle to the list! I guess I just need to get a little thing called the accelerator fixed. No biggie.

And am I the only one that is disappointed with the Sweetheart brand for changing the flavor of conversation hearts? They are disgusting now! Those were my favorite part of Valentine's Day!

Dang! I'm so sorry! That's all you want...to relive a nightmare again. I hope everything goes well with his therapy and that they fix it quickly! You know, you think you know what you're signing up for with kids but it sure is a lot busier than I expected....and I've NEVER liked conversation hearts so sorry, but I don't feel your pain ;)

Oh man, not again! That really sucks. Poor boy. I remember Gretta in her helmet, and having to do all that physical therapy, it's so time consuming! At least catching it at such an early age, his head will likely be able to mold easier into shape, and hopefully his little muscles will just perk right up. Good luck!

Oh, Jess, I meant to call you! So, I guess they didn't hesistate to start physical therapy right away! Crazy! Poor little thing! I hated doing the little stretches with Owen, and he was so much older than Walker. I can't imagine how hard it will be to watch such a little thing be moved and stretched like that! So sad.
And, oh my gosh, I am so mad about the sweethearts thing! I thought I'd try the brach's brand, and yuck! Then I tried buying the western family brand. They were a little better, but just not the same! I want to file a formal complaint to that company, so they know that those icky things won't sell!

So sorry! I hope they caught it early enough that maybe you can skip the helmet stage! Hang in there!

Poor thing - so sorry you have to go through it all again. Sounds like you're just a tad overwhelmed, anything I can do to help?

That seriously sucks! I was hoping that would't be the case. Good luck, I bet he gets better fast.
